Platform/The Watchers

The record keeps itself current

Checked every night.Arrives on its own.

A watch list of the sources that matter, run through the door each night: the debate record, the gazette, the bills shelf, the ministers' releases, each party's pages. New material is on the counter by morning without anyone asking.

What it does

The Watchers

  • A watch per source. Each watch names what it reads, how it reads it and what counts as new. Adding a source is one line.
  • The night, in order. The watches first, then the rebuild, the diff and the withdrawals. The morning counter shows what arrived and what changed.
  • Nothing publishes itself. An arrival is not a row until a human rules on it. The night fills the pile; it never empties it.
The rule that travels with it

The server owns the night. A human owns the morning.

How it works

Three steps, stated once

Watch

Each source is read on its own schedule, by its own plugin.

Diff

New, changed and removed rows are told apart by a snapshot of every key.

Queue

Arrivals wait on the counter for a human ruling.

Next

Ask for a demo, a licence, or a chamber.

Second Chambers is presented to counsel and investors as a skeleton. Every figure on it is measured; every row is read at source; the prices are owed.
